Step 0: Get Started

Step 1: Build the Map

🎯 Goal
Create the game world.
  1. Use the Set Background block to choose a grid background.
  2. Find the Grass sprite and draw the grass sprite to cover the background.
  3. Draw your own Zebra Crossing sprite costume.
  4. Draw a Zebra Crossing from the school down to the edge of the screen.
  5. Add the school building and resize it. to 150
  6. Draw your own Road sprite costume.
  7. Draw a Road from the left edge of the screen to the right edge of the screen.
  8. Remember to add a small section of zebra crossing to cover the road
  9. Arrange everything to make a road outside the school just like the game you saw.
💡 You need to draw your own Zebra Crossing and Road sprites.

Step 2: Create the Car

🎯 Goal
Create the player's car.
  1. Create a new car sprite.
  2. Set its size to 50.
  3. Add the Driving with Arrow Keys behaviour.

Step 3: Create the Cash

Create a collectible.
  1. Create a cash sprite.
  2. Place it beside the road.
  3. Set its size to 30.

Step 4: Create Students

🎯 Goal
Create moving obstacles.
  1. Create two student sprites.
  2. Resize both to 30.
  3. Assign the custom behaviour after creating it.

Step 4B: studentMoveSouth Behaviour

🎯 Goal
Make students walk.
  1. Create a custom behaviour called studentMoveSouth.
  2. Move the sprite south using studentSpeed.
  3. When it leaves the screen, move it back to the school

Step 5: Variables

Store game data.
  1. Create the cash variable and set it to 0.
  2. Show the cash variable.
  3. Create the studentSpeed variable and set it to 2.

Step 6: Car Hits Student

Create Game Over.
  1. Create an event when the car touches each student.
  2. Call the gameOver function.

Show the ending.
  1. Play an explosion sound.
  2. Remove all sprites.
  3. Show the Game Over message.
  4. Show the student in wheel chair.

Step 7: Collect Cash

Reward the player.
  1. When the car touches cash, play a coin sound.
  2. Move the cash to the opposite side.
  3. Increase cash by 1.
  4. Increase studentSpeed by 2.
